Rosalie's birthday card 2016 edition

I used a retired CTMH picture my life card cut it down and I rounded the corners. I adhered to the top of the base for this card. I rounded the corners of my card as well. I die cut the balloons using a non CTMH die from my stash from paper I had previously watercolored and had done some watercolor splatter on. I took white twine and I cut it to the length longer than the height of the card, then I separated each strand of the twine into single strands. I adhered the balloons how I wanted them and I tied twine to each one, then I pulled the stands to the bottom of the pml and adhered the bottom of the pml card down. That hid the end of the stands and I didn't have to glue down each strand(which would have been harder to do).  I die cut the happy die from CTMH. I used that same watercolored paper I had made previously. I used my CTMH bonding memories glue pen to adhere happy to the card. I stamped birthday wishes from the Birthday Sprinkles stamp set in the lower right corner in CTMH sapphire ink.
The inside of the card was finished with balloons die cut from non ctmh paper. The tails of the twine are tied together in a bow and hidden behind the baseball card. This baseball card was given to me by the sister of a ST Louis Cardinal baseball player that has been playing for the Memphis Red Birds and STL . My cousin Rosalie is a die hard STL fan. When my friend heard that she is such a big fan, she was happy to mail me a signed baseball card from her brother! The bottom of the card was stamped using streamers from the new Way to Go stamp set from CTMH in different colors.  I also used the sprinkle stamp from birthday sprinkles and stamped to make a pattern for the hope it was great hand written sentiment.

I finished the envelope with some washi tape from my stash.

Rosalie loved her card and was excited for the baseball card. Her birthday was in July, but I waited to give her the card until I saw her a few weeks ago, so I could tell her all about meeting a STL player's sister on a recent trip. I did a lot of stamping on this card. It sure was fun!

Stamping, card making, and scrapbooking with children

My cousins are 8 and they really like art. The last time we were together, I taught them how to use Close To My Heart products to make their own cards. They had brought loose pictures of their first communion as a gift for my parents, so I showed them how to each make a scrapbook page. Unfortunately the flamingo stamp set has now retired, but they did so well and had such a good time, that I had to show what they made. I still use my retired CTMH stamps. They last forever. Here is Evelyn showing off her card. She stamped the flamingo body in pixie and the wing in cotton candy. The beak and legs were stamped in slate. She applied the matching washi tape to the bottom.
Here is Alice and her card. She loved the flamingo stamp set too, but she stamped some hearts on her card and added some silver shimmer trim.

I gave them the new With You stamp set from Close to My Heart and a piece of white daisy paper. I let them choose their colors and make their own design. All I did was supervise and cut a mat for their photo. Colors used was sorbet, sweet leaf, thistle, and sapphire. Mats were cut from the retired whimsy fundamental paper on the glossy side.  They did a great job and they loved picking out their photos and using the stamps and ink. Here are the pages in the album.

Here is Alice with her page. She used two different stamps and decided to stamp on the left of the paper. Her photo is matted with pink paper because that is her favorite color.

Here's Evelyn with her finished page. She used just one stamp and all the colors. Her photo is matted in purple because that is her favorite color. CTMH products pair so well together that even though they each chose different colors, they look great together.

All CTMH products used for these projects. We still have plenty of pictures left to make some more scrapbook pages. I made my parents a scrapbook one Christmas of family events that year. I put these pages in that book and we will just add on until it is filled.  I also know that if we make a scrapbook page together each year and put them in the album, it will be something for them to look forward to flipping thru and looking back on the progress they have made. For their first time stamping, card making, and making a scrapbook page, they did better than I did! I saved my first scrapbook and I remember my first card. The scrapbook pages had too many pictures on a page and it was just a cluttered mess. The beauty of these projects is, if they had made a mistake, starting over would have been fine. I encourage you to try stamping, card making, and scrapbooking with children. I had a lot of fun and they did too. These are simple projects for any age. I hope you are stamping this month and celebrating National Stamping Month! You can order the With You stamp set here and the ink here. Thank you so much for stopping by. Do you craft with children? What kind of products have you made? I would love to hear from you in the comments. These two love to draw, color, and paint.

A look at the holiday expressions catalog

I have showing today the video Close to My Heart did of the Holiday Expressions catalog. I will be showing my favorite products from that catalog and the annual catalog soon. Tomorrow I have a special post about National Stamping Month. I filmed a video comparing the old ink pad design and the new ink pad design, but I am having trouble uploading it. I hope to work that out today and post.

A look at Jeepers Creepers paper from CTMH

Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to order this amazing paper. I plan to order October 1st, so I don't have my homemade projects to share yet, but I do have this video from CTMH to show you that shows off this fun Halloween paper. I love the paper with the eyes. It is all so cute! If you have trouble watching the video thru an email subscription, you made need to go directly to my blog page by clicking on the title in your email. Woodlawn Critters card

My friend was needing a pick ne up, so I made her this card to give with a box of her favorite candy. The paper is Calypso,  which unfortunately just retired with CTMH 8/31. Woodland Critters is a new stamp set just released yesterday.  It has cute animals and it has been hard waiting to show it. The card is a simple design,  but I love how it turned out. I hope to get the walk thru of the holiday catalog up this weekend.
